Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish | Complete Collection

HOW DID THEY WORK THEIR WAY INTO MY NAIL POLISH COLLECTION? SNEAKY, YES?!

OK, OK, I bought them. Accidentally. You might remember from my What’s In My Superdrug Basket? post, that I had been wanting to try the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine range since it was released, and that I ended up ordering two- Pomegranate and Satsuma. That, my friends, is where the madness started. I absolutely loved them, the colour and the shine and the cute fruity names:) And I decided I wanted to ‘collect’ them, not actually thinking that I would ever actually have the full set. So when I went shopping about a week ago, I saw the Barry M stand and decided to pick up Lychee, Greenberry and Papaya (because Superdrug was doing three for two on Barry M nail polish) which were all just as beautiful as the first two. I, of course, took this as a sign that I should allow my madness and OCD possess me.  Then, when I got home, I decided it would be rude not to make the most of the three for two, so I ordered Blueberry, Grapefruit, Plum, Watermelon, Blood Orange and Barry M Nail Paint in yellow. Don’t ask me why. I then ended up popping into Boots, and bought the last three in the collection- Prickly Pear, Dragon Fruit and Blackberry. WHAT. IS. WRONG. WITH. ME.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I’ve got the collection- they’re beautiful and lovely and I will use them all- but that’s thirteen nail polishes. Not including the yellow one I bought.

OK, here’s the sad part:

I have a checklist of the colours- now complete with swatches- stuck on my wall. Does anyone else do this? No? Didn’t think so.

I’m not sure if you can even read that, my writing’s looking pretty awful, but ohwell. See how gorgeous the colours are?! They aren’t in the most appealing order here. Never mind.

Guess what the best part is? This isn’t even the full collection! Barry M are releasing another five shades on June 5th- Mango, Blue Grape, Keylime, Guava and Passionfruit- which I cannot wait to try out:) All the new colours look great too, exept Passionfruit, which is lovely, but I think they’re overdoing the pink a little bit in this collection. And there’s still no Pineapple/Banana-esque shade! Bah:( And I’d love a purple-y-red-y-pink, like Cherry:) And a really nice Apple green:) I have a feeling we’ll be seeing quite a few more in this range, they’ve been really clever using fruity names that have so many options. What colours do you think they’ll come up with?

So there we go. That’s the collection, which is totally lovely and beautiful and stuff. Let me know if there are any colours here you want to see proper swatches of:) My last post was actually about Greenberry- the turquoise one- so just scroll down and have a look at that, and I also did a post a while ago where you can have a quick look at Pomegranate and Satsuma.

I love the names of this range! So cute, though some of them are a bit like, really? Are you sure you’re going with ‘Blood Orange’ not, I don’t know, strawberry? Also, as a general rule, you can get away with one coat of these and it’ll last a good few days without chipping.

Also, I realise that my last four posts, not including this one, have been about nail polish, but it’s alright because I’ve got some shiny new makeup and things to show you in my next post:)

Have you tried Gelly Hi Shine? What shades have you got, and how weird am I for having, ahem, all of them?:)

  5. Wow, I’m really jealous. I’ve only got one of the Gelly Hi-Shine polishes (plum, I think) but it goes on so well I can’t wait to get some more. I’m holding out for summer colours to be released in the shops, though, if I can wait that long!

Hi there! Absolutely love your collection! I don’t have any Barry M nail polish at all, let alone these gorgeous Gelly ones, the colours are amazing especially Papaya Dragon fruit and Grapefruit. Great post, x

  7. These are beautiful! I love that you have that paper on the wall with all of the names. That is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Also I am obsessed with completing collections so I totally understand.

  8. I kinda like the names of the polishes 🙂 I wish i could get these babies in store here in Germany…

    • They’re cute aren’t they?!:)
I feel so bad for people that can’t get hold of Barry M, it’s a great brand;( I’m really hoping they’ll go international soon:)

      • We do have similar kind of polishes here by the german drugstore brand P2. They just came ou with a new vomule gloss line – if you google it you might see they are kind of one family. But still i would love to try a BerryM polish 😀

  9. Hello darling,
i thought you would like to know that i nominated you for the super sweet blogging award 😉 Your welcome Clarke.

  10. I a solutely love Prickly Pear, Dragonfruit, and Lychee! Wish we got those here, though ill probably end up with all thirteen, too, lol!

  11. FUDGE! Lauren, would you like some more?!?!?!?! Oh WAIT, you can’t you bought the whole collection. ‘Accidentally’. But who can deny, they are gorgeous colours. But still, you need to see someone about this obsession… Seriously… 😀 😀 ❤

    • It’s fine, don’t panic, there are plenty more collections of nail polish out there that are yet to be collected by moi. And it was an accident. Much like getting a non fatal disease. It’s worrying for a while, but the results, i.e-staying off school/looking at nail polish, are worth it in the end.
And for your information, my therapist said that there was nothing she could do. I’m damaged. And fairly high maintenance
      .

  12. Oh my. I just died! They are so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Hehehe, I can see how your thinking went there. Once you have a good number of them, why not get the whole set?

Is it true that you need acetone to remove them?

    • Exactly!:)
Er, I’ve just been using Tesco’s own nail polish remover;P I’m not sure if it’s one that contains acetone though. I’ll experiment- I’m sure I have an acetone-free nail polish remover somewhere:)

  14. OH MY GOD! is that the whole collection? lol

  15. Wow, that’s amazing! I’m quite jealous :).
