‘Frozen’ Nails | NOTD

Is anyone else a teeny bit obsessed with Elsa’s makeup in Frozen? I think it’s beautiful. The eyeshadow and the lip colour in particular are stunning, and while I’ve been a little scared to try and recreate them, I did end up creating a kind of Frozen-esque nail art. I’m not sure it counts as nail art, actually. It looks so much fancier than it is, and I thought I might as well upload a couple of pictures.

This is basically just two coats of Essie’s Lapiz of Luxury (reviewand then a little bit of blue glitter. It’s not that obvious in the photos, but the glitter is mainly on the ends of my nails in a kind of ombre effect. I think it looks so pretty, and considering I am less than useless when it comes to fancy nail art designs, I think this turned out pretty well. And it took the same amount of time as a normal manicure.

If you don’t have any glitter lying around, you could do the same effect with a glittery nail polish, by the way, but I kind of like the textured effect of pure glitter under one top coat. Speaking of top coats, I’m desperately searching for a new one. The Maybelline one I’m using at the moment does prevent chipping (for about 48 hours longer than without a top coat) but it doesn’t speed up the drying time or anything. Any recommendations welcome!:)

What do you think of this nail-look? I really hope it doesn’t chip too badly because I am not looking forward to battling with the nail polish remover on this one.

NOTD | Essie Wicked

Available for £7.99 at Boots and Superdrug

Sorry these photos look awful- I’ve had this nail polish on for three days so it’s starting to look a little chipped and worn down. It really is a beautiful colour though, and you can easily get away with one coat.

Essie Sole Mate

Available for £7.99 at Boots and Superdrug.

Essie Nail Polish Purchases!

I may have gone a teeny tiny bit overboard at the Superdrug 3-for-2 sale. I ended up crossing quite a few  Essie nail polishes off my wishlist, which is pretty awesome. They’re all really nice Autumn shades which I think I’ll be wearing exclusively for the next few weeks.

Over the Edge // Midnight Cami // Bordeaux // Liquorice // Decadent Dish // Wicked // Thigh High // Sole Mate // Angora Cardi

*by ‘Essie A/W13 Collection’ I mean it’s my collection for A/W13, not the Essie collection.*

I really can’t wait to try all these out! I love Essie nail polishes, they’re so easy to apply, the brush is amazing and I love the shade selection.

Have you tried any of these? What’s your favourite nail polish for this time of year?

OPI and Essie | Wishlist

I’ve put together some pictures of the nail polishes I like the look of for Autumn/ Winter 2013- they’re so beautiful! All photos are from and, let me know what you think of these shades, or if there are any others you’re planning on buying!

Peace, Love & OPI // Sprung // OPI Ink // Muir Muir On The Wall // Lincoln Park After Dark // Vampsterdam // Every Month is Oktoberfest // Danke-Shiny Red // Romeo & Joliet // Dulce de Leche // Sleigh Ride for Two // My Private Jet

Angora Cardi // Bahama Mama // Bordeaux // Chinchilly // Decadent Dish // Eternal Optimist // Liquorice // Luxedo // Midnight Cami // Over the Edge // Sole Mate // Tea & Crumpets // Thigh High // Wicked

The Nail Polish Quiz! New tag?

I thought I’d go a bit crazy and make a tag-type question thing:) I have no idea if any one is even a little bit interested in the answers and everything, but they’re all questions I’d love to know the answers to, so if anybody wants to do the tag as well, that’d be so awesome and I’d love to read it!

Also, let me know if there are any other questions you want me to add, because mine probably aren’t going to be that great:)

1. What nail polish are you wearing right now?

Essie, Lapiz of Luxury

2. What’s your favourite nail polish colour?

Anything orange/coral/peach or blue

3. How many nail polishes do you have in your collection that you’ve never used?

4. How often do you buy nail polish?

I’ll probably buy three or four bottles a month? Sometime a lot more:)

5. Name a nail polish you love, but you don’t wear?

Revlon Nail Enamel in Posh. Such an interesting colour, but doesn’t suit me.

6. Any nail polishes you always take off after an hour?

O.P.I Into The Night. It’s one of the most beautiful colours ever, I just can’t wear it.

7. How often do you change your nail polish?

Every day, because I’m weird and I get bored.

8. Favourite nail polish brands?

Essie, Barry M, O.P.I

9. Most disappointing nail polish you’ve tried?

Any crackle nail polish. When it’s done properly, I love it, but most of the time it looks disgusting;|

10. Most expensive nail polish you own?

Chanel Nail Colour in 509 Paradoxal. I actually hate it, the brush is ridiculously thin.

11. Cheapest nail polish you own?

My P.I.A polishes. I got them on 3 for £5 😀

12. Have you got a whole nail polish collection?

The O.P.I Spiderman collection, and I pride myself on owning every single Barry M Gelly Hi Shine 🙂

13. Do you/ can you do nail art?

Occasionally I’ll do something really simple (very messy NOTD pic!) but most of the time I don’t bother because I change my nail polish so often.

14. How do you store your nail polish?

In three perfume boxes, organised by a) ‘high end’, b) favourites and c) can’t-bring-myself-to-throw-them-away-but-I-don’t-wear-them.

15. How many nail polishes do you own?

Too many to count, but not as many as I’d like:)

16. Nail polish brands you want to try?

Sally Hansen, Jessica, A England and more Zoya’s!

17. Do you use a base coat/ top coat?

When I remember! If I’m wearing a colour that’s going to stain my nails, I normally make more of an effort:)

18. Nude, black, or French manicure?

Black. Always, goes with everything:D

19. Currently at the top of my nail-polish-wishlist…?

Essie Mesmerized, O.P.I Gargantuan Green Grape and O.P.I Cajun Shrimp.

20. All time favourite nail polish(es)?

O.P.I Just Spotted The Lizard was my first ever O.P.I so it’s special:) But also Barry M Greenberry and Revlon One Perfect Coral.

Feel free to leave out some of the questions if you decide to do the tag, 20 is quite a lot!:D Hope you liked this, it was really fun and remember to leave a link to your tag!:D

July shopping:)

Ok, I have literally gone makeup and cosmetic shopping insane, this month, so I thought I’d do a *quick* post, with mainly pictures and not much of me rambling so you can decide if there’s anything you want me to review:)

Here’s most of what I bought this month-

Nail Polish! If you’re new here, you should know I have a small problem. Just scroll through some of my previous posts, you’ll understand.

Left-right= Essie Mint Candy Apple, Maybelline Color Show in 130 Winter Baby, 150 Mauve Kiss, 465 Brick Shimmer and 661 Ocean Blue, Revlon Nail Enamel in 770 Heavenly and 580 Eclectic.

I bought Apocaliptic pretty much in the week these lip lacquers came out because I’d seen so many bloggers go crazy for them, but I was actually really unimpressed, mainly because of the colour. I decided to pick a few more up the other day and give them a second chance. To be honest, I’m still not in love, but I’m still planning on getting more colours. By the way, this swatches? Real love. These things stain.

Can’t do a ridiculously expensive Boots order without skincare! Love both of those, I am actually planning a skincare post soon if anyone’s interested?

LOVING all of these. So pretty, you know how I love my Natural Collection lipsticks, and I’m thinking I’m gonna be pretty obsessive over these Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks now:D

I’ve got 6 of these now, but there are 4 or 5 more I want, so when I have them I’ll do swatches and a real review and stuff:) These were actually in one of my very first reviews. All cringe:L

More about all these in my next post:)

Free nail polish (I got Electric Dream which is sooo pretttyyy) when you spend over £4 on Collection- of course I got another Lasting Perfection Concealer:)

My sister asked me to order her some Natural Collection makeup, so I decided I’d try out their blush in Peach Melba, which so far I am loving.

Little bit more Soap&Glory makeup (another post in the making, I think) which are both amazing!!

This isn’t including the ridiculous amount of hair dye I stocked up on  this month, but I didn’t think anyone was interested in that:)

Let me know if there’s anything here you want a review for, or any recommendations and stuff in the comments;)

Colours Of The Rainbow TAG!:)

This tag looks like so much fun! I’ve seen it round YouTube for a while, but I had no idea it had reached the blog-world, so big thanks to Asha from for tagging me!

OK, quick confession before the tag- I couldn’t choose one object for each category. I KNOW, I’m weak. I was thinking that the point of this tag is to let people (you. Reading this. You are ‘people’) know about new products that are awesome and that they should try. So, I’m going to show you the pictures (which are bad, by the way. I just took them, but it’s all rainy outside so the lighting is terrible) and then do my best to put a link to each of them under the picture.

Dot by Marc Jacobs

Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

Clean & Clear Energising Facial Wash

Essie Tart Deco

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Satsuma

Nip + Fab Mango Smoothie (And Pistachio Sundae! That’s even better!)

The cute little box was a gift (I think from TK Maxx) and let me know if you would like to see an updated jewellery stand tour!

And that’s the Tag!

Sorry again about the crappy photos:D

I’m tagging you all, by the way, even my non-beauty-blogger friends. Any colourful things you love, take a few photos, and then put a link to your post in the comments!

And hey there, and -do this tag, OK? You’d be awesome(:

Essie First Impressions | Cute as a Button

Sadly, I’m down to the last of my new Essie polishes now;( but never mind, because I love this one.

Essie Cute As A Button

Colour- This pink is so beautiful. I wasn’t actually expecting to love it, I just bought it because I’ve heard so much hype about Cute As A Button. It’s so popular it’s almost a chiche. The colour’s really beautiful fluorescent pinky-coral, the only drawback is that in the pictures above, I’m wearing three coats and I still think it’s not completely opaque. I’m a one-coat-of-nail-polish kinda girl, so this isn’t great. But the colour is great, and I will still use it. The formula actually seems a lot thinner than the other two I’ve tried. Those two look almost shellac-like, a lot like the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine range with only two coats, but this one is three coats and still really thin.

Price– £7.99 from Boots or Superdrug, well worth the price.

Quality&Application- As I mentioned in the Colour section, it is really thin. But it doesn’t highlight imperfections as much as the other two I’ve tried, and it’s still gorgeous.

Packaging- I love it! It’s a really gorgeous 13.5ml bottle, I like the white polish top, most of mine are black so it really stands out. Love:)

Lasts for- I normally only wear nail polish for a day, I only get two days a week to wear nail polish and I aim to use as many colours as possible!:) From what I’ve read on other blogs and seen so far on my nails though, it seems pretty chip resistant.

Overall- I love this polish just as much as I’ve loved the other two. The colour is stunning, and I’ll definitely get a lot of wear out of it. Take a look at the blue and orange I tried!:)

I’m actually really sad I’ve run out of shades to try, but I’ll definitely be getting more. Let me know what your favourite shades are! I’ve been looking at Mint Candy Apple because that looks lovely too.
